TITLE:
Industrial Safety Director

Comp: From $100,000-$120,000/yr

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Safety Director direct hire position in Fort Wayne, IN

Responsibilities:

• Design and execute long-term safety strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Ensure full compliance with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory bodies.
• Continuously update and refine safety programs to reflect changes in laws and industry best practices.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and supervisors, covering topics such as hazard communication, chemical safety, and fire prevention.
• Lead new hire safety orientations and manage ongoing safety recertification efforts.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness training and conduct regular mock drills.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and audits; identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Manage compliance programs including hearing conservation and other regulatory requirements.
• Oversee workers’ compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work plans.
• Facilitate quarterly Safety Committee meetings to promote safety awareness and collaboration.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure timely submission of required reports, including OSHA logs, environmental permits, and hazardous waste documentation.
• Track and manage submission deadlines for all safety and environmental reports at federal, state, and local levels.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in EH&S field
• 5+ YOE of experience in safety leadership, including supervisory responsibilities
• Heavy industrial background
• Experience with injury documentation, paperwork, training material, etc.
