OverviewThe Corporate Communications Manager will serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders, aligning communication initiatives with corporate goals to drive employee engagement and enhance organizational reputation. They will collaborate with the appropriate resources and departments to engage both the internal community and the local communities where facilities are located. This is primarily done through employer branding, communications, networking and coaching.
Education& Experience Requirement
- Bachelor's Degree is required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience and demonstrated required skills and abilities may be qualifying.
- Define expectations and offer direction to the Corporate Communications Department while developing the skills and capabilities of the team members to ensure growth and improvement within the department.
- Collaborate across the organization to develop clear internal communication strategies.
- Foster meaningful, clear two-way internal communications between employees and leaders.
- Support and provide easy tools for departments that need to communicate policies, programs and other information across the organization.
- Actively support and engage in the Intranet to foster internal communications capabilities.
- Grow the communications capabilities of the organization, starting with Senior Leaders.
- Develop metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and provide actionable insights to leadership for continuous improvement.
- Guide the Corporate Communications Department and other resources to develop and execute corporate events that show appreciation for employees and engage them in the corporate mission.
- Engage the organization's community partners to both foster and maintain relationships.
- Attend and actively contribute to high-visibility events, representing the organization to external stakeholders and strengthening corporate partnerships.
- Develop and manage tracking and reporting mechanisms for corporate community involvement.
- Champion and support major volunteerism events.
- Collaborate with the Talent Sourcing team and others to develop a strong employer brand.
- Drive awareness of the organization and its work in the community.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Model and create a continuous learning mindset amongst teams via active use and engagement with the learning tools and opportunities provided by FWM.
- Ensure accountability of team members through expectation setting, communication, coaching, performance management, corrective action, and potentially performance improvement plans in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Conduct 6:15 conversations with direct reports according to FWM's schedule.
- Promote development among team members by identifying growth opportunities, encouraging stretch assignments and providing support for continual learning and advancement.
- Manage individuals based on the essential functions and responsibilities as listed in their job description.
- Foster an environment of collaboration and serve as a champion of Fort Wayne Metals' ideal behaviors within the division and cross-functionally.
- From a high level, monitor and foster talent growth. This includes succession planning, mentoring, and encouraging individual development within FWM.
- Advanced computer skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office products.
- Competent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective organizational savvy.
- Ability to self-direct and effectively prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally, building solid relationships with all levels of employees; able to manage confidential information.
Physical Requirements
- Fast paced office environment in a manufacturing facility.
- Overtime may sometimes be necessary.
- Work demands may require a significant part of time working away from office.
- Must be able to access all areas of operation, including second floors.
- Significant amount of time spent at desk working on the computer and telephone.
