** Job Summary*
* The Manager, PACU is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This role provides leadership in clinical decision-making, staff development, and operational efficiency while supporting the organization's goals for patient safety, satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The Manager collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to optimize departmental performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
** Essential Functions*
* + Supervises, coordinates, and evaluates the nursing care provided in the PACU, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and organizational policies.
+ Implements and monitors performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, clinical quality, and satisfaction metrics.
+ Leads staff engagement and professional development efforts, creating a supportive work environment that promotes retention and employee satisfaction.
+ Analyzes data to identify risk mitigation and improvement opportunities, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
+ Oversees daily operations, including staffing, resource allocation, and workflow management, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery.
+ Collaborates with other departments and leadership to resolve issues, improve processes, and implement new programs or initiatives.
+ Ensures patient care standards are met by maintaining communication with staff, patients, and families, addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
+ Complies with all policies and standards.
** Leadership Responsibilities*

** Supervision and Staff Management*
* + Provides leadership, mentorship and professional development opportunities for departmental staff.
+ Schedules employees to ensure effective use of resources. Consults with Director on staffing issues.
+ Conducts performance evaluations, sets goals and provides feedback to staff on their performance and development.

** Strategic Planning and Financial Oversight*
* + Develops and manages departmental budget ensuring cost effective operations while maintaining high quality service.
+ Monitors expenditures, ensuring cost-effective delivery of services.
+ Evaluates and implements new technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
+ Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures and protocols to optimize quality and overall efficiencies.

** Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance*
* + Ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies. May oversee the accreditation process with relevant agencies ensuring that services meet or exceed industry standards.
+ Participates in audits, inspections and accreditation processes as applicable.
+ Follows established quality control practices to ensure accuracy, consistency and safety.
