General Manager – Fitness & Performance

FxA Inc. is seeking a passionate, commercially minded leader to manage D1 Training Fort Wayne SW, a locally owned and operated sports-performance and fitness facility.

D1 Training is an athletic-based training franchise serving youth athletes, student-athletes, and adults ages 7 and older. We use proven training methods to help each person pursue meaningful goals.

This is a hands‑on growth role for a leader who is comfortable building systems, developing people, personally driving sales, and strengthening local relationships. You will work closely with the owner and D1 Training corporate team while leading the facility’s daily operations, team, sales performance, and member experience.

Lead Operations and Business Performance

• Oversee daily facility operations and maintain a safe, professional, high-quality training environment
• Own facility financial performance, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and expense control
• Build and improve operating systems that create consistent experiences for members and employees
• Use performance data to identify priorities, solve problems, and improve results
• Partner with the owner and D1 Training corporate team on strategic initiatives and business development
• Help establish D1 Training Fort Wayne Southwest as a recognized leader in sports performance and fitness in the community

Build and Inspire the Team

• Recruit, onboard, lead, develop, motivate, and retain a high‑performing team of coaches and support personnel
• Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards
• Conduct effective weekly team meetings, regular one‑on‑one conversations, and timely performance coaching
• Develop coaches and staff to deliver a consistent, high‑quality D1 experience
• Build a culture centered on teamwork, character, accountability, and meaningful results

Drive Sales and Member Experience

• Lead membership growth and retention in a developing market
• Actively manage the sales process from lead generation and consultation through follow‑up and enrollment
• Coach the team to achieve a target close rate of at least 50% on completed qualified consultations
• Establish disciplined follow‑up, pipeline management, and conversion practices
• Ensure every member receives an exceptional, personalized experience
• Build relationships with schools, athletic clubs, businesses, and community organizations
• Turn strong coaching and member experiences into referrals, reviews, and long‑term relationships

The successful candidate will combine commercial discipline with a genuine commitment to people. This leader will be visible in the facility, active in sales and community outreach, consistent in developing the team, and accountable for measurable business and member outcomes.

• Three or more years of sales experience, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets
• One or more years of people‑management experience
• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing a team
• Experience managing financial, operational, or performance targets
• Strong communication, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work a full‑time, on‑site schedule that includes some evenings and weekends based on business needs

• Experience in fitness, athletics, hospitality, retail, or another membership‑based business
• Experience managing a P&L, budget, or local operating plan
• Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant leadership experience
• Background as an athlete, coach, fitness professional, or active participant in sports and wellness
