Summary
:
Sets up and operates plasma cutting burntable to cut heavy gauge metal.

• Set up machine by retrieving and loading large heavy plates of steel using an overhead crane, downloading the program, entering job parameters, selecting the type of cut, and cutting the first piece.
• Operate the burn table by monitoring cutting and adjusting heat in torches, pre‑heat times, and pierce rate.
• Unload skeleton and parts using an overhead crane, jib crane, and/or magnets.
• Clean and scrape parts and remove scrap.
• Perform first‑piece and in‑process inspection by checking material thickness and part dimensions per blueprint using calipers, tape measures, and calculators, inspect parts according to the C=O chart, and complete the inspection form.
• Clean the burn table and perform minor preventive maintenance such as checking coolant levels and gases, and changing or adjusting them as needed. Change oxy‑fuel tips.
• Complete the Plasma Table maintenance log.

• Education & Experience
  :
  High school diploma or GED; 1–2 years related experience and/or training. Blueprint knowledge preferred. Three to six months of CNC machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment, or a comparable combination of education and experience, is preferred.

  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  :
  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
