This role exists to support ongoing production demand within Viant Medical’s Fort Wayne facility. CNC Swiss Machinists in this position are essential to producing tight-tolerance medical components used in life-saving and life-enhancing medical devices, where precision, consistency, and quality are critical.
The Work You’ll Be DoingIn this role, you will:
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC Swiss lathes with minimal supervision
- Perform tooling changes and manage offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy
- Run multiple machines while managing production throughput
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and vision systems
- Hold tight tolerances required for medical manufacturing
- Deburr, buff, and finish parts to print specifications
- Troubleshoot machining issues independently and make necessary corrections
- Complete production documentation accurately to maintain traceability
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and uphold 5S standards
- Support and assist other machinists as needed
You’ll work with precision equipment and inspection tools such as:
- Machines: CNC Swiss-type lathes
- Inspection Tools:
- Micrometers, calipers, bore gauges
- Depth & chamfer gauges
- Optical comparator
- Thread, ring, plug, and pin gages
- Keyence Vision System
- Support Equipment: Manual machine tools and press equipment
- Medical-grade metals and precision components (Specific materials vary by program)
Required:
- 2+ years of CNC Swiss machining experience (or journeyman-level skills)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
- Solid understanding of shop math and precision measurement
- Ability to work independently and follow written/verbal instructions
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and handling materials up to 30 lbs
Preferred (Not Required):
- Medical device manufacturing experience
- Experience running multiple Swiss machines simultaneously
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S environments

Pay: Competitive hourly pay (based on experience and skill level)
