The Gun Drill Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining gun-drill machines used in the fabrication of precision medical instruments and implants. This role ensures that all parts meet stringent quality standards through accurate machining, inspection, and documentation.

What You’ll Do:
  • Set up, operate, and maintain gun-drill machines, fixtures, and jigs to ensure efficient, precise, and consistent production.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, inspection checklists, and written instructions to perform machining tasks accurately.
  • Use precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges, to verify product dimensions and specifications.
  • Perform deburring operations to maintain product quality and compliance with manufacturing standards.
  • Conduct straightening operations and light Swiss machining tasks as needed.
  • Adjust machine settings, replace or sharpen tools, and make other modifications to meet production and quality requirements.
  • Accurately record labor and production data using the ERP system, ensuring traceability and process documentation.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in precision machining or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
