Overviewthe Maintenance Technician is responsible for all aspects of building and equipment maintenance including: welding, fabricating, machining, AC and DC electrical, electronics, plumbing inert gas lines, troubleshooting and general maintenance duties.
Education & Experience Requirements- High school diploma or equivalency, required.
- Associate's degree in related technical area, preferred.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in the industrial maintenance field.
- Minimum 1 year of lathe experience, preferred.
- Perform routine mechanical, welding, basic machining (lathes and mills) maintenance. Maintain AC and DC drives, and troubleshoot as necessary.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctioning equipment and machines.
- Sustain and record parts inventories and compose a list of parts to be ordered for the Team Leader.
- Prioritize maintenance jobs based on work orders categorized as low, medium, or high priority.
- Accurately record work order into necessary system.
- Troubleshoot machines for operation issues.
- Keep assigned work and storage areas clean and organized.
- Install water, gas, and air piping, and electrical power (as needed)) when a machine is added or moved to a facility.
- Interface with Engineers, Production Coordinators (PC), and other departments and company personnel by supporting the accomplishment of their goals and assist with meeting customer expectations.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Ability to perform basic computer functions.
- Possess basic math, reading, and writing skills.
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
- General mechanical aptitude.
- Fast-paced production environment.
- Work hours consist of 40 hours per week.
- Overtime may sometimes be required.
- Potential exposure to drawing oils and powders, hydrogen, nitrogen, acids and industrial alcohol.
- Appropriate PPE must be worn where posted and required.
Physical Requirements

- Must be able to access all areas of operation, including second floors.
- Standing/walking most of shift.
- Required to lift 50 lbs.
- Bending, stooping, climbing, and working on and around all sizes and types of equipment.
- Maintenance Technician with responsibilities at Large Quantity Generator Facilities:
Responsible for and trained to understand RCRA hazardous waste rule including but not limited to waste hazards, storage time limits, satellite accumulation, marking, labeling, daily and weekly inspections, aisle space, storage, manifest shipping, use and location of emergency equipment, response to spills, Contingency Plan requirements. - Maintenance Technician with responsibilities at Large Quantity Generator Facilities:
Annual RCRA Large Quantity Generator training required. This position requires initial training within six months and annually thereafter as a hazardous waste handler as required by EPA RCRA hazardous waste rules. - Maintenance Technician with responsibilities at Large Quantity Generator Facilities: DOT Hazardous Material initial training within six months and at least every three years thereafter as a hazardous waste hander as required by DOT.
