Production Supervisor - CNC Machining
Fort Wayne, IN
Direct-Hire, Full-Time
Hours:
Day shift
Compensation: Base Salary + Bonus + Profit Sharing + Full Benefits

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise day-to-day machining and production activities across assigned shifts, ensuring optimal utilization of people and equipment.
  • Oversee a team of CNC and manual machinists, providing direction, coaching, and technical support as needed.
  • Manage workflow in a high-mix, low-volume job shop environment, prioritizing customer orders and meeting delivery schedules.
  • Ensure all safety, quality, and productivity standards are achieved and sustained.
  • Monitor job progress, part quality, and adherence to machining specifications and tolerances.
  • Coordinate with engineering and planning to resolve technical or scheduling issues.
  • Support setup optimization, tooling selection, and process improvements to reduce downtime and waste.
  • Maintain accurate production reporting, time tracking, and shop documentation.
  • Enforce company policies, maintain a clean and organized work area, and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, 5S, and preventive maintenance efforts.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in machining, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong working knowledge of CNC machining processes, setups, tooling, and inspection.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient with ERP/MRP systems and basic computer applications.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices preferred.
