OverviewThe Specification Analyst will act as a subject matter expert by reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting incoming customer specifications and industry standards to evaluate against current Fort Wayne Metals capabilities, processes, and policies. They will resolve any discrepancies from this documentation with the support of Engineering, Quality, Legal, Environmental, Product Management, Marketing, and Commercial groups. Also, the Specification Analyst will maintain the integrity of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system through creation of processing line‑up used to produce the material, meets testing requirements, and has quality check points.
Education & Experience Requirements- Associate' degree in Business, Engineering, OLS or technical curriculum; or comparable demonstrated skills combined with work experience.
- Basic understanding of how to enter and transform information in ERP system/database, Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
- 2 years relevant experience within FWM of manufacturing processes and quality system knowledge preferred.
- Analyze and comprehend internal and external customer specifications, purchase orders, quotes, emails, complex technical information, and industry standards.
- Analysis and comprehension of the information, establish and maintain production processing flows that meet testing, quality, and compliance requirements through coordination with internal and external partners.
- Ensure compliance to American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), Aerospace Material Specifications (AMS), Unified Numbering System (UNS), Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), customer quality requirements and standards.
- Coordinate tasks through the assigned item workflow cues to perform in the most expedient and accurate way possible.
- Maintain the in‑process activities for bottlenecks, and act as communication liaison with Engineering, Commercial, Operations, Quality, Shipping, and Purchasing departments to ensure both internal and external specs are met, and material is manufactured through an accurate and efficient course.
- Effectively manage change requests on the micro level while educating other users of the system, troubleshooting problems, investigating history, waiting for information, and maintaining item review and creation workload by establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Act as subject matter expert on specification issues for the assigned area of proficiency for specific site. Actively consult to and with internal and external partners to bring awareness of consequences from changes made on an individual item level and/or all affected areas and products.
- Assist internal partners with resolving ERP system issues through application of subject matter expertise and conducting research, where applicable.
- Collaborate with internal partners to understand the importance of process flow accuracy to assimilate the most accurate product cost.
- Through daily activities, create an environment that promotes a positive customer experience.
