Operates computer‑controlled tube laser to cut patterns and/or parts from tube and structural shapes, producing parts from raw material.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Adhere to all safety policies and OSHA requirements, as stated in the 1910 OSHA General Industry Regulations & Standards.
  • Operate Laser Tube Cutter.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and provided job order.
  • Load and unload machine.
  • Clean parts and place them on appropriate pallets.
  • Ensure parts are labeled correctly, including pallets with accurate job number.
  • Keep machine and area organized and clean.
  • Operate Combi Lift.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be able to use computers efficiently and effectively.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Must be able to read tape measure and prints.
  • Must have good attendance.
  • Must understand how to operate machining capabilities of the machine.
  • Must be a self‑starter.
  • Must be able to work overtime.
  • Must be able to work well with others.

Education and/or

Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language

Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, vendors, customers, and/or any type of individual present in the facility.

Mathematical

Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to read a tape measure.

Computer

Skills:

Knowledge of manufacturing software and Microsoft Office suite.

Physical Demands: Regular standing and walking, use of hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally sit. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Frequent bending at the knee. Requires close and distance vision.

Work Environment: Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. Noise level is usually loud.
