Engineering Technician

Position: ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN I
SUMMARY

Must be able to solve problems within finishing process with emphasis on molding

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Regular attendance and adherence to the "NISCO Attendance Policy" including the ability and availability to work a minimum of eight (8) hours per day, forty (40) hours a week, or such other hours per day or hours per week (over-time) as determined necessary or desired to meet business needs. Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and NISCO policies and rules.

Follow "work instructions" and perform operations as identified.

Includes the following along with other duties that may also be assigned.

• Perform molding and basicmoldrepairs
• Analyzeproblemsofmoldingtechniques
• Adjust all finishingequipmentand recommend improvements to meet specifications
• Change simple parts in moldmachineand simplerepairs
• Perform basic cutter,drill,and size machinerepair
• Capableofmolding, judging (Good/Bad),operatingsome maintenancemachines and tools.
• Able to do simplemechanical drawings/sketching
• Capable of operating finishing equipment with understanding of basic operation
• Tig welding knowledge preferred
• Responsible for conformity to product requirements and has the authority to stop production to correct quality problems.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma, G.E.D. or comparable from country of origin. Basic computer knowledge
• Minimum of 1-2yearswork experience
• Demonstratesbasic mechanical aptitude
• Good written and oral skills
• Able to pass mechanicaltest

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand for up to 8 hours; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The associate frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities may require color vision depending on job assignment.
