CNC Lathe Machinist
A growing precision machine shop in Fort Wayne is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist who can take ownership of projects from programming through setup and production. This is a true machinist role in a fast-paced job shop environment where no two days look the same. This position is ideal for a machinist who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and independence and wants to be part of a stable shop with long-term employees and strong growth potential.
The machinists perform multiple setups per day, work with a variety of materials and parts, and play a key role in maintaining quality and efficiency. Flexible scheduling for personal or family needs Leave during the day for appointments if needed Make up hours without penalty Weekly overtime opportunities available Weekend work is rare Predictable first-shift schedule Responsibilities Program CNC lathes using Mastercam Perform complete machine setups and prove-outs Interpret blueprints and technical drawings Select tooling and determine machining strategies Run first articles and verify part accuracy Make program adjustments as needed Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards Minimize scrap through careful planning and execution Perform multiple setups throughout the week (often multiple per day) Troubleshoot machining challenges and production variables Maintain a clean and organized work area The right person will be:
