Grinder 2nd Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Grinder to join our 2nd shift team in the Fort Wayne area. In this role, you will operate grinding equipment and utilize precision tools to ensure metal components meet exact specifications. This position is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with blueprints and metal fabrication processes.

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and layouts to determine proper grinding procedures
• Set up and operate grinding equipment to shape and finish metal work pieces
• Inspect parts using measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications
• Straighten work pieces and remove imperfections using presses and hand tools
• Perform surface finishing using files and other hand tools as required
• Fit and align parts during pre‑assembly to verify dimensional accuracy
• Remove completed parts from machines and organize on racks, skids, or containers
• Identify and separate defective materials to maintain quality standards
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including PPE requirements such as eye, hand, feet, and hearing protection

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
• Basic computer skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Experience in grinding, machining, or metal fabrication preferred
• Ability to lift weight up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to work while standing, bending, stooping, reaching, using arms and hands, and lifting throughout the shift

• This is a Full‑Time | Temp‑to‑Hire position
• Pay rate is $17.00 – $19.00 + $1.00 shift differentials, based on experience
