Summary of Responsibilities:

To prepare the vehicle for the painting process; to perform high quality automotive painting on vehicle chassis, vehicle module, cabinets and/or small parts. To perform high quality coating applications such as interior and exterior grade linings; to assemble and apply the stripe layouts to the vehicle using established prints and layout designs or by creating new prints and designs.

Comprehend work orders
- Receive, review and interpret instructions and prints for each unit or job. Plan details of working procedure, tooling and material requirements - 20%

Sanding
- Module, chassis and other assembly parts as needed - 50%

Masking and unmasking
- Module and chassis as needed - 25%

Assembly and disassembly of module and chassis - 25%

Color creation and paint mixing
- Applying the stripe layout and painting vehicle's stripe and painting the vehicle's chassis and module - 25%

Mask off and unmasking the chassis and module - 25%

Degrease the stripe area - 15%

Painting of miscellaneous small parts and the vehicle's doors
- Application of all coating/lining products to require vehicle assemblies both manufactured and purchased - 25%

Prep Paint and Painting
- Formula mixing and color blending, painting of single stage, base/clear coat or tri-coat applications - 75%

Verification and inspection of final finish - 25%

Layout and lettering design and application - 20%

Complete minor painting operations
- Touch-up minor defects from paint operation - 25%

Technical Skills/Competencies (technical knowledge, education and experience)

High School diploma or equivalent

Two years prior working experience in automotive painting with AXALTA paints

Experience with multi-color painting applications

Experience with formula mixing and color blending

Experience with bodywork, sanding, masking, hand/air tools and tape measure

Personality Traits / Core Skills

High cooperation with bodywork and vehicle prep departments

Essential Functions/Physical Requirements

Ability to pass spirometric testing and physical requirements

Cleanliness and operation of equipment including earplugs, respirators, spray gun and hoses

Complete all work as detailed in the summary of responsibilities of this position profile at acceptable productivity and quality levels

Demonstrate all technical skills/competencies and core skills as referenced in this job specification at acceptable productivity and quality levels

Demonstrate reasonable and reliable attendance

Maintain any required licensures and/or certifications

Operate all job-related equipment or machines at acceptable productivity and quality levels

Successfully pass a post offer drug test, as well as random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug and alcohol test thereafter

Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds with assistance, regularly require to walk, talk and hear, reach with hands and arms, stand, crouch and kneel; frequently required to use hand to finger dexterity in order to handle objects, tools, and/or controls; occasionally required to stoop or crawl
