Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable Press & Automation Operator to join our manufacturing team on 3rd shift for company located in Fort Wayne, IN. This position is responsible for safely setting up and operating presses and automation equipment, monitoring production quality, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring all work is completed according to established safety and production standards. Pay Rate: $17.00/hour
Schedule:
Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM Overtime:
Mandatory overtime as needed
Training will be provided on 1st Shift for approximately 2–3 weeks:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.
- Follow all work instructions, including all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Set up presses correctly and according to required specifications.
- Troubleshoot issues with press automation and make necessary adjustments.
- Set and adjust press and automation parameters to maintain efficient production.
- Install and connect automation tooling, including bars, grippers, fittings, auto-lube sprayer tooling, nozzles, and fittings.
- Safely enter the press area when required to complete tooling installation and adjustments.
- Monitor product quality through audit inspections, gauging processes, and completion of inspection records.
- Communicate equipment, production, and quality concerns to the Lead Operator and Supervisors.
- Operate a forklift to safely move loads exceeding 10,000 lbs.
- Safely load, set, and connect dies using a forklift.
- Follow all company safety procedures and 5S policies and protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- At least 1 year of factory/manufacturing experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs.
- Basic math skills.
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work mandatory overtime as needed.
- Non-smoking facility.
- Cell phones are not permitted on the production floor.
- Must be willing to follow all safety, quality, and production policies.
