Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse)
Location:
USA – IN – Fort Wayne – Coldwater Rd.
Compensation: U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 – $33.44. Pay may vary based on qualifications, experience, and location.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results.
- Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs; follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Consult with Center Physician or Medical Affairs on medical/technical findings and donor safety eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- Provide center‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS).
- High school diploma or equivalent; or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Medical/dental, vision insurance; 401(k) plan with company match.
