Nursing Prof Dev Practitioner

Summary

Serves as primary resource for planning, coordinating and facilitating nursing professional development (NPD) and clinical education throughout Parkview Health. Uses tools, theories, skills and knowledge of NPD to improve the practice of coworkers. The NPD Practitioner is accountable for NPD practitioner competencies.

Must have a BSN from an accredited program. Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA). MSN or Master's degree preferred. Indiana Perinatal Standards require that NICU and Obstetrics educators have a Master's degree, MSN preferred, or be actively in progress of obtaining the degree.

Valid Registered Nurse License required for the state where services will be provided. Nursing Professional Development or equivalent certification within 3 years. Certification in other clinical specialty areas encouraged.

Must have a minimum of three years of experience in direct patient care. Indiana Perinatal Standards require that NICU and Obstetrics educators have advanced neonatal and obstetrical experience.

Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Minimum proficiency with technology, e.g., Microsoft Office suite.
