Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Med‑Surg/Telemetry position in Fort Wayne, IN, requiring NIHSS certification and at least 2 years of experience.

• Active IN RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in neuro med‑surg or telemetry
• Proficiency in neuro assessments, drain management, post‑surgical care, chest tube management, and groin site management post‑IR
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
• Driver’s license required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the contract start date

• Hospital telemetry unit with 24 beds and a higher med‑surg acuity patient population
• Patient diagnoses include stroke, seizures, post‑op neuro surgeries, level 1 and level 2 trauma, DKA, renal failure, and general post‑op care
• Patient ratio of 5:1 or 6:1
• Day shift, 7a-7p
• Floating to other units is required
• Every other weekend is required
• Holiday coverage is required
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• 13‑week contract
• Provide neuro med‑surg and telemetry nursing care including post‑operative and trauma step‑down management
• Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
• RTO requests must be less than 1 week for the duration of the contract
