Position: LPN Temp BH $35 hr

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Short-Term Assignment (13 weeks) at Maple Heights Behavioral Health – $35 per hour

We are offering a temporary 13‑week assignment.

Schedule & Compensation
  • Full‑time temporary set schedule – 9 am to 9 pm, 3–12 s and every other weekend rotation.
  • $35 per hour.
  • Not a benefit‑eligible temp; no travel stipend or reimbursement.
  • Opportunity to convert to part‑ or full‑time at the end of the assignment.
About Maple Heights Behavioral Health

A 120‑bed inpatient hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, offering comprehensive treatment for adolescents, adults, and seniors with acute mental health disorders.

Purpose Statement

Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice, as defined within the state Nurse Practice Act regulations and facility policies. Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward patients at all times. Reduce risk of error and maintain patient safety.

Essential Functions
  • Monitor patient health and provide basic care using the nursing process within the LPN/LVN scope of practice and care plan objectives.
  • Model excellent customer service and demonstrate a sense of urgency concerning patient safety.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet patients’ physical, biopsychosocial, developmental and cultural needs; address complaints.
  • Ensure patient comfort and implement nursing interventions from individualized care plans.
  • Apply interventions to progress patients toward wellness and maintain wellness.
  • Discuss care with patients, listen to concerns, and report status changes to registered nurses and physicians.
  • Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers and other clinicians.
  • Safely administer medication per policies and physician orders.
  • Maintain professional nursing standards per facility policy, external governing bodies and psychiatric nursing standards.
  • Provide thorough, accurate reporting and documentation of patient symptoms, responses and progress.
Other Functions

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience / Skills
  • Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
  • One or more years of nursing experience in a clinical setting preferred.
Licenses / Designations / Certifications
  • Current LPN/LVN license required by state.
  • CPR and de‑escalation/restraint certification required (training available on hire).
  • First aid certification may be required based on state or facility.
