Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - 2nd shift and Weekends

Job Description

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the role

The Medical Support Specialist will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The work is performed under the guidance of the Center Manager and under medical direction of the Center Physician. The specialist will be familiar with plasma collection regulations and provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety. The specialist follows guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs.

How

You Will Contribute
  • Determine donor eligibility, including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Evaluate donor reactions occurring at the facility, follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, develop the Center Physician’s standing orders, and aid donor transport to emergency care facilities.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation requirements by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community, as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda
  • High‑school diploma or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
  • Current license or certification in the state of assignment:
    Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Completion of FDA‑approved Bio Life Medical Support Specialist training requirements.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation and Benefits Summary

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $33.44 – $45.98. The actual wage may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) plan with company match, short‑ and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year, and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
