Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Short‑Term Assignment at Maple Heights Behavioral Health
We are offering a temporary 13‑week assignment for an LPN who has at least 2 years experience in a behavioral health setting.
Compensation and Schedule$35 per hour for full‑time temporary work.
- Full‑time temp set schedule
- Day Shift 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- 3–12 Saturdays and every other weekend rotation
- Opportunity to convert to part‑ or full‑time at the end of the assignment
- Not benefit eligible; no travel stipends or travel reimbursements.

About the FacilityMaple Heights Behavioral Health is a new, 120‑bed inpatient hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, providing comprehensive treatment for adolescents, adults, and seniors with acute mental health disorders.
Purpose StatementProvide nursing care and services within the scope of nursing practice, following state Nurse Practice Act regulations, facility and corporate policies, and protocols. Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
Essential Functions- Monitor patient health and administer basic care using the nursing process within the LPN/LVN scope of practice.
- Model customer‑service expectations and demonstrate a sense of urgency toward patient safety.
- Collaborate with others to meet patients’ physical, biopsychosocial, developmental, and cultural needs; address complaints if unmet.
- Provide basic comfort and implement individualized nursing interventions.
- Apply interventions to progress patients toward wellness and maintain self‑care.
- Discuss care with patients and address their concerns; report status changes to registered nurses and physicians.
- Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers, and others involved in treatment.
- Safely deliver medication in accordance with policies, physician orders, and current practice.
- Maintain professional nursing practice standards per facility policy, external governing bodies, and psychiatric nursing standards.
- Report accurately and thoroughly patient symptoms, responses, and progress.
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- One or more years’ nursing experience in the clinical area(s) served by the facility (preferred).
- Current LPN/LVN license as required by the state.
- CPR and de‑escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
- First aid certification may be required based on state or facility regulations.
