Responsibilities
- Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements.
- Conduct physical examinations, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) results.
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable findings.
- Evaluate donor reactions during the donation process and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility.
- Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation by occupational health or ER is required; refer to EHS guidance for employee incidents.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist with investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community.
- High school diploma or graduate‑equivalent completion of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Current licensure or certification in the state of assignment:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Hourly wage range: $33.44 – $45.98 (actual offer based on qualifications, experience, and location).
