Job Description

You will support the operations of a Plasma Donation Center, acting as the Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse). Mandated responsibilities involve determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable results. You will perform under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, SOPs, and Bio Life Medical Affairs guidelines.

Additionally, you will assist with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) issues.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent management, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptability requirements, physical exam, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).

• Evaluate donor reactions as documented in SOPs and manage medical emergencies, collaborate on physicians' standing orders, and facilitate donor transport to emergency care when needed.

• Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility matters.

• Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.

• Manage employee incidents and coordinate further evaluation with occupational health/ER; consult EHS guidance on incidents.

• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist with investigations related to local pandemic threats.

• High‑school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate‑equivalent recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Current state license or certification (LPN or LVN).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Completion of the FDA‑approved Bio Life Medical Support Specialist training.
• Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 – $33.44. The actual hourly wage offered may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
