Unit Overview:
The Progressive Care Unit is a 12-bed unit located on the second floor of Parkview Randallia, providing care for patients who require a higher level of monitoring and nursing care than a general medical-surgical unit but not the intensity of an ICU. The unit serves acutely ill patients with moderate to higher levels of acuity who are at increased risk for clinical instability and require close observation, advanced assessments, and continuous cardiac monitoring.
Care is delivered by a collaborative team that includes nurses and patient care technicians in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes strong critical-thinking skills, effective communication, and safe medication administration. The Progressive Care Unit supports advanced clinical practice while providing high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals transitioning between medical-surgical and intensive care levels.

Qualifications:
- Requires a diploma in nursing or an ASN/BSN
- Valid Indiana registered nurse license required. CPR certification.
- Additional certifications may be required for specified areas.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, assist with 100 pounds. (Lifting requirements may be heavier for specified departments.) Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
