GH: 72 Bi-Weekly (96 Bi-Weekly not an option)
SHIFT: Nights, 7P-7A
CALL REQUIREMENTS: Every Other or every third weekend, holidays on rotation schedule, no on call requirements

REQUIREMENTS: RN IN licensure, ACLS, BLS
SKILLS: RN required, oncology background preferred
Lutheran employed staff required to obtain chemo/bio certification within one year of employment
2+ years' experience, oncology experience a plus
EMR: Cerner
SCOPE OF ROLE: Medical/surgical oncology unit, chemotherapy administration, blood products
NUMBER OF BEDS IN UNIT: 24
PATIENT RATIO: 5:1 sometimes 6:1
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to oncology patients in various settings.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatments.
- Educate patients and families about cancer treatments and care plans.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Assist in managing patient pain and discomfort effectively.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.
- Engage in performance evaluations and set personal improvement goals.
- Utilize data to assess patient outcomes and improve care strategies.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
- Foster a supportive environment for patients and their families.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and training.
- Experience in oncology nursing or related healthcare field preferred.
- Ability to collaborate with healthcare teams for individualized care.
- Strong problem‑solving skills to manage patient pain and discomfort.
- Strong communication skills for patient and family education.
- Competency in monitoring vital signs and responding to changes.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and safety standards compliance.
- Ability to work effectively in a high‑visibility, results‑oriented environment.
- Experience with documenting patient progress and maintaining records.
