Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Spine Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit requiring IN or compact licensure and prior neuro assessment experience.

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS may be obtained during first week of orientation
• 1-2 years of recent experience in neuro/med-surg telemetry required
• Expertise in neuro assessments, critical thinking, drain management, post-surgical care, chest tube management, and groin site management post-IR
• Certifications must not expire within first 30 days of start
• Driver's license and permanent home address matching  for consideration
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days in the past 12 months

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg unit with Neuro Spine surgical and telemetry patients, including Level 1 and Level 2 trauma cases, stroke, DKA, and renal failure diagnoses
• 24-bed unit within a 396-bed hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6
• Night shift 7P-7A with every other weekend required
• Block scheduling accepted as long as it accommodates every other weekend
• Floating required to other med-surg or telemetry units
• No mandatory call, voluntary only
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Provide higher-acuity med-surg care for post-op neuro/spinal surgery and trauma patients
• Navy scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 1 week, must be pre-approved
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Previous perm staff at this health system within the last 2 years not eligible for consideration
