- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130-$2,250
- Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- End Date: February 1, 2027
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, typically three 12-hour shifts
- Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
- Shift Options: Days or nights; day shift hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- NICU Setting: 31-bed Level III NICU with typical 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios
- Charting and Medication Systems: EPIC and Pyxis
- Floating: May float to age-appropriate Pediatric or PICU assignments
- Orientation: Eight-hour shifts held Monday through Friday during week one and Monday through Tuesday during week two; attendance is mandatory for all seven orientation days
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
- At least 2 years of recent Level III NICU nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Strong neonatal assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care in a fast-paced acute-care setting
- Willingness to float to age-appropriate Pediatric or PICU patients as needed
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates
- Perform ongoing neonatal assessments and promptly identify changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and therapies safely using established NICU protocols
- Monitor vital signs, respiratory status, nutritional needs, and developmental progress
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
- Educate and support families throughout the neonatal care experience
- Accurately document patient care and clinical outcomes in EPIC
- Maintain a safe, organized, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants and families
- Adapt to floating assignments involving age-appropriate Pediatric or PICU patients when required
