Join a Level III NICU in Fort Wayne, Indiana, as a travel Registered Nurse and make a meaningful difference for critically ill newborns and their families. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to work with an experienced neonatal care team in an acute-care setting while caring for medically complex infants in a supportive, well-equipped environment. - Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
- Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 1, 2027
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour shifts; 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. days or nights based on unit needs
- Unit Size: 31 beds with typical 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios
- Charting and Equipment: EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis medication administration
- Additional Expectations: May float to age-appropriate pediatric or pediatric intensive care assignments
Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of Level III NICU nursing experience
- Current Indiana Registered Nurse license, or willingness to obtain one
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Strong neonatal assessment, critical-thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Ability to complete mandatory orientation attendance during the initial training period
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex newborns
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and escalates concerns promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely while following neonatal protocols
- Collaborate with neonatologists, providers, respiratory therapists, and other members of the neonatal care team
- Educate and support families throughout the neonatal care experience
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in EPIC
- Maintain a safe, compassionate, and developmentally appropriate care environment
- Float to age-appropriate pediatric or pediatric intensive care areas when needed
