- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Unit Size: 31 beds with typical 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios
- Charting and Medication Systems: Epic and Pyxis
- Orientation: Eight-hour days during a mandatory seven-day orientation schedule; attendance is required for all orientation days
Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of Level III NICU nursing experience
- Current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license, or eligibility to obtain one
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care for critically ill and medically complex neonates
- Flexibility to float to age-appropriate pediatric or PICU assignments when needed
- Ability to meet the unit dress code of Caribbean blue scrubs
- Provide comprehensive neonatal nursing care to newborns and infants in a Level II NICU environment.
- Assess patient conditions, monitor clinical changes, and implement individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments safely using established protocols and Pyxis medication systems.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in Epic.
- Collaborate with neonatologists, physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Support parents and families through education, communication, and compassionate bedside care.
- Maintain neonatal safety, infection-prevention, and quality-care standards.
- Float to appropriate pediatric or PICU assignments according to department needs and demonstrated competency.
