The EHS Specialist will support onsite environmental, health, and safety programs through inspections, audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and contractor management. This individual will partner with project teams and contractors to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, company safety standards, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct daily site walks, inspections, and observations to identify hazards and reinforce safe work practices.
- Perform environmental compliance inspections, including air quality, stormwater, waste management, SPCC, refrigerants, and other environmental control systems.
- Execute health and safety audits covering areas such as fall protection, electrical safety, confined spaces, crane operations, hot work, PPE, emergency response, powered industrial equipment, and contractor safety programs.
- Complete risk assessments and contractor/vendor compliance evaluations using established EHS programs and tools.
- Investigate incidents, injuries, near misses, and occupational illnesses, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Support EHS self‑assessments, record‑keeping, permit tracking, training documentation, and other administrative functions.
- Partner with contractors and project stakeholders to address safety concerns, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
- Participate in safety meetings, orientations, stand‑downs, and field briefings while providing technical EHS guidance.
- Collect, track, and report EHS metrics and support additional site safety initiatives as needed.
- Experience supporting environmental, health, and safety programs in construction, industrial, manufacturing, data center, or similar operational environments.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance requirements, and industry safety standards.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
- Proficiency with EHS reporting systems, documentation, and compliance tracking.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coach personnel and influence safe work behaviors.
