We’re seeking an experienced CMM Programmer/Operator for a growing precision machine shop specializing in automation equipment and low-volume components for aerospace and other demanding industries. You’ll inspect complex machined parts, troubleshoot dimensional issues, and work directly with machinists, toolmakers, and engineers to maintain exceptional quality standards.

  • 401(k) with company profit-sharing contributions
  • Competitive PTO—up to four weeks
  • Seven personal or sick days
  • Life insurance
  • Short- and long-term disability

What You’ll Do

  • Program, set up, and operate a 2020 Hexagon Global S Green CMM
  • Develop and run inspection programs using PC-DMIS
  • Operate a Hexagon Absolute Arm and Hexagon Optiv optical CMM
  • Inspect high-precision, low-volume machined components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, job orders, and GD&T callouts
  • Verify tight dimensional tolerances of 0.0002 inch or less
  • Perform inspections using comparators, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other manual inspection tools
  • Communicate out-of-tolerance conditions to machinists and toolmakers
  • Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and quality personnel to resolve dimensional issues
  • Inspect completed parts for quality and machining accuracy
  • Calibrate inspection equipment or verify current calibration
  • Adjust inspection setups and processes to ensure accurate, efficient results

What You’ll Need

  • At least five years of related dimensional inspection experience
  • Experience programming, setting up, and independently operating CMM equipment
  • Working knowledge of PC-DMIS software
  • Strong blueprint-reading and GD&T interpretation skills
  • Experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined components
  • Proficiency with manual precision measurement tools
  • Ability to identify, document, and communicate quality issues

  • Experience with Hexagon CMM, Absolute Arm, or Optiv equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Background in low-volume, high-precision machining
