Description Position Summary

We are seeking a Food Service Lead to support the operation of premium dining areas, suites, clubs, and special event spaces by providing hands on leadership to Food Servers and support staff. This role ensures high quality service, accurate order execution, and smooth coordination between front of house and back of house teams. The Food Service Lead assists with training, workflow management, guest issue resolution, and maintaining service standards throughout events.

Work is performed with moderate independence under the direction of Premium Supervisors and Food & Beverage Managers, following established procedures and service expectations.

Fort Wayne FC home matches run mostly on Saturday evenings from May 2 through October 24, with a few Wednesday matches. Additional stadium event dates will vary.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead Food Servers and support staff during events, ensuring consistent service standards, proper table coverage, and efficient workflow.
  • Assist with staff placement, break rotations, and real time adjustments to meet guest demand.
  • Support order accuracy by reviewing tickets, coordinating with kitchen and bar teams, and monitoring food and beverage delivery.
  • Greet guests, assist with escalated concerns, and ensure a high quality, hospitality- focused experience.
  • Oversee setup and breakdown of premium service areas, including stocking supplies, preparing stations, and ensuring readiness before gates open.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, service stations, and premium spaces in accordance with sanitation and safety standards.
  • Train new staff on service procedures, menu knowledge, guest interaction, and stadium policies.
  • Monitor product quality, equipment functionality, and service flow, reporting issues to Supervisors or Managers.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, allergen awareness, and service regulations.

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to guide and support a team.
  • Knowledge of food service operations, menu components, and premium service standards.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make quick decisions in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to resolve guest concerns professionally.
  • Basic math and POS proficiency for order oversight and payment handling.
  • Ability to train, coach, and model proper service techniques and procedures.
  • Professional demeanor, attention to detail, and a guest focused mindset.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provides on the floor leadership to Food Servers, Runners, and support staff.
  • Does not have formal hiring or disciplinary authority but provides input to Supervisors and Managers.
  • Works under the direction of Premium Supervisors, Premium Managers, and Food & Beverage Managers.
Experience and Training
  • Prior serving experience required; leadership or lead server experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in premium, banquet, or high volume hospitality environments is beneficial.
  • Completion of required stadium training, including food safety, guest service, and alcohol compliance modules.
  • Demonstrates reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and event driven schedules.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, carrying trays, and lifting up to 25–30 lbs.
  • Ability to navigate stairs, premium seating areas, and crowded environments.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions such as carrying plates, pouring beverages, and operating POS devices.

Work Environment:

  • Fast paced, guest focused stadium setting with varying noise levels.
  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor conditions depending on premium space location.
  • Requires adaptability during peak service periods and special events.
Event Attire

Event day staff will be provided with a designated event staff shirt and will need to wear their own khaki pants or long shorts (based on an approved attire list). Comfortable shoes are suggested.
