The Job at a Glance
The Business Development Specialist (internally known as PARTnership Builder) is responsible for finding, developing, and maintaining relationships with customers. The role involves proactively managing a high volume of outbound calls, building personal connections, identifying customer challenges, and leveraging Parts Town’s value proposition to deliver solutions. The Business Development Specialist facilitates all aspects of the sales process, including identifying new opportunities, developing sales solutions, closing sales opportunities, negotiating pricing, and providing outstanding customer service and follow‑up.
ATypical Day
- Place a high volume of outbound calls (40+) to new and existing customers.
- Identify, cultivate, and build new customer partnerships by understanding their problems and needs, and by using Parts Town’s value proposition and solutions.
- Build in‑depth knowledge of food service and HVAC industry trends and customer needs.
- Drive revenue by prospecting and building a pipeline while fostering personal relationships with potential and existing customers nationwide.
- Integrate all sales activities into the CRM () system for timely, accurate reporting.
- Conduct research on accounts to understand their business and how Parts Town can meet their parts needs.
- Partner with Customer Experience team members to develop and grow customer relationships.
- Educate customers on Parts Town resources and capabilities (electronic resources, technical support, manufacturer relationships, etc.).
- 1–3 years of experience in inside sales, business development, customer development, or account management.
- Experience using Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Passion for building new solutions and solving problems.
- Enjoys meeting new people and has the drive to build enduring partnerships.
- Proactive, organized, and takes the initiative to follow through.
- Resilient and treats rejection as a challenge.
- Excellent communication skills, proficient in English (verbal and written).

The salary range for this role is $55,094.88–$74,352.58 annually ($26.48–$35.74 hourly). The compensation includes base pay and may also include profit‑sharing and an annual bonus depending on performance.
