YOU

As a Territory Sales Representative (TSR) – Truss, you will grow Component Manufacturers’ sales in Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan by building and maintaining strong relationships with component manufacturing customers. Your goal is to promote Simpson’s Integrated Component Systems (ICS) software suite and related hardware, collaborating with our engineering, marketing, and technical teams to deliver solutions and market intelligence.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Drive demand and grow sales (60%) – Prospect, conduct sales calls, identify opportunities, give hands‑on presentations, and support customers with repair tools.

Software demonstrations (25%) – Ensure existing Building Technology customers maximize the software’s capabilities and communicate their needs to product managers.

Industry promotion (10%) – Represent Simpson Strong‑Tie at trade shows, association meetings, classroom settings, and local contractor events.

Administrative & support (5%) – Manage CRM, schedule business planning, submit expense reports, maintain company vehicles, and perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • 3–5 years of industry experience and/or training; strong working knowledge of project workflow from architect/engineer to contractor. Sales and account management with a proven track record of revenue growth preferred.
  • Technical aptitude to become a trusted resource for Simpson products and solutions and to provide support.
  • Presentation skills – develop and deliver engaging presentations.
  • Creative & innovative thinking – contribute to organizational and individual objectives.
  • Decision‑making & judgement – balance analysis, experience, and perspective.
  • Accountability & dependability – fulfill commitments to peers and supervisors.
  • Adaptability & flexibility – respond positively to change and adopt new practices.

  • Driving record – valid driver’s license and clean record required.
Physical Requirements And Work Environment

Stand, walk, sit, see, talk, and hear frequently. Occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. The role involves professional office settings, customer sites, and outdoor construction job sites with standard office equipment and intermittent exposure to loud noise.

Travel Required

50 % domestic travel.

Work Status & Location

This full‑time, exempt position can be located in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Springfield, Peoria, or Chicago.

Relocation

Relocation may be considered.

Pay

$75,200 – $107,500 per year.
