Seasonal Environmental Assistants should expect to work primarily in an office setting with field days during the summer season. They will be responsible for managing assigned project items, which may include Early Coordination Letters, Coordination Review, preparation of Red Flag Investigations, and other tasks related to the NEPA process. The best candidate will have experience drafting technical documentation, some field experience, and strong time‑management skills.

Seasonal Environmental Assistants can work up to 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, with flexibility available for those balancing college or other commitments. This role is strictly limited to 180 working days, which reset each October, so candidates should plan their schedules accordingly to remain within that capped allotment.

This position is with INDOT's Fort Wayne Unit.

This position pays an hourly rate of $16.24.
