Jack Laurie Group is looking for a hardworking and dependable Commercial Flooring Apprentice to join our Fort Wayne team. This position is ideal for someone with 1-3 years of construction, flooring, or trade-related experience who wants to build a long-term career in the flooring industry.
You'll work alongside experienced installers on commercial projects throughout Northeast Indiana, learning the skills needed to install a wide variety of flooring products including LVT, LVP, carpet, carpet tile, sheet vinyl, rubber flooring, and more.
What You'll Do
* Assist with the installation of commercial flooring materials including LVT, LVP, carpet, carpet tile, sheet vinyl, rubber flooring, and other floor coverings
* Prepare job sites and flooring surfaces for installation
* Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment
* Learn proper installation techniques and industry best practices
* Assist with floor preparation, layout, cutting, fitting, and finishing
* Maintain a clean and organized work area
* Follow company safety policies and job site requirements
* Travel to project sites throughout Northeast Indiana as needed
* Work closely with experienced installers to develop your trade skills
What We're Looking For
* 1-3 years of construction, flooring, or related trade experience preferred
* Willingness to learn and develop a career in commercial flooring
* Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
* Strong attention to detail and work quality
* Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
* Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
* Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
