Position: Mobile Diesel Mechanic II Friday thru Mon 2pm to 12am $3000 New Hire Bonus

Mobile Diesel Technician Level II

Responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow‑up repairs, and advanced diagnostics under the supervision of a senior mobile diesel technician or higher. Maintains high performance metrics and complies with all company policies.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (“PM”), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • Make minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment such as electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment using handheld computers, pressure gauges, and other test instruments.
  • Road‑test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper functioning.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to identify malfunctions.
  • Use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives for problem resolution.
  • Independently manage parts inventory and reconcile as needed.
  • Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, including safety checks and pre‑/post‑trip inspections.
  • Work with and listen to clients to assess their needs and resolve issues.
  • Prioritize concurrent tasks and allocate time effectively.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
  • Document work in Repair Orders (“RO”) on the company iOS device and TRAIT application, uploading photos of work performed and parts used.
  • Accurately complete DOT forms and all other required documentation promptly.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, managing own daily schedule.
  • Maintain productivity, meeting or exceeding most Standard Repair Times.
  • Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary.
  • Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone for approvals, purchase orders, and RO findings.
  • Perform all work in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other safety, health, and environmental policies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of experience in a related field (or an alternative combination of education and 5 years of experience).
  • Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for job duties.
  • Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
  • Successfully complete DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening, DOT physical, and maintain a valid DOT medical card with at least four months remaining.
  • Be at least 21 years old and hold a valid state driver’s license and Driver Qualification File.
  • Safe drivers required.
