Role DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Fort Wayne, IN, responsible for maintaining and repairing residential properties managed by Midtowne Realty Inc. Day‑to‑day tasks include completing work orders, diagnosing and fixing issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and general building systems. The role involves performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and seasonal tasks such as snow removal or exterior upkeep.
The Maintenance Technician will respond to urgent maintenance needs, ensure all work meets safety and regulatory standards, and communicate clearly with residents and office staff regarding repair status. This role also includes coordinating with vendors when specialized repairs are needed and maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and general Maintenance & Repair for residential or commercial properties.
- Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance and Industrial Maintenance tasks to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
- Proficient Troubleshooting skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and building system issues.
- Experience with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC support is highly beneficial.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, manuals, safety guidelines, and basic technical documentation.
- Effective communication and customer service skills when interacting with residents, colleagues, and vendors.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time independently.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or related fields is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between properties as needed.
- Ability to lift 75-100lbs, use hand and power tools safely, and work in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions.
