Overview

This is a position for an Electronics Technician 2 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. The role involves designing, engineering, integrating, operating, and maintaining electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio‑visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command‑and‑control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers.

Responsibilities

Executes various technical tasks and responsibilities within field operations, including installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment and systems. Ensures functionality and reliability, performs site surveys, configures hardware and software, tests systems, and provides technical support.

  • Utilizes and comprehends project safety plans (JHA, AHA, PFW).
  • Analyzes and interprets complete drawing packages to assess constructability.
  • Verifies correct charges in timesheets and executes activities within planned durations.
  • Tracks and inventories tools, conducts inspections, and performs daily inventory.
  • Participates in daily ORM meetings and PITCO plan creation/build.
  • Installs raceway, cabling, racks, enclosures, panels, adhering to NEC.
  • Terminates, tests, and configures electronic devices, network and IT equipment.
  • Stacks head‑end equipment, terminates cable per industry standards.
  • Communicates consistently with project teams.
  • Provides constructive feedback and collaborates positively.
  • Plans and prioritizes tasks effectively.
  • Surveys and documents field conditions, provides recommendations.
Qualifications Education
  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours).
Required Progressive Experience
  • 4+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Time‑management and organization skills.
  • Valid driver’s license; may require intermittent use of company vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vendor certifications in multiple IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems (e.g., CCURE, Lenel, Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS, AIphone, Airphone, FFT, DIVAR, Windows OS).
  • Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician or Electrical Apprenticeship program.
  • At least 3 years of experience in electronic security systems.
  • Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Must be able to travel 25%.
