About the Opportunity
TEKsystems is seeking motivated and reliable Telecommunications Technicians to support a large-scale, fast-paced infrastructure project in Fort Wayne. This is a hands-on, field-based role ideal for individuals looking to build or grow a career in telecommunications, low-voltage, and network infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Telecommunications Technician, you will play a key role in building and maintaining critical infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
+ Installing and routing low-voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic as applicable)
+ Performing rack and stack of network equipment (routers, switches, patch panels)
+ Supporting telecommunications system installations and upgrades
+ Troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues
+ Testing and verifying cable installations to industry standards
+ Assisting with device configuration and system setup (VoIP, PBX, etc.)
+ Maintaining clean and organized job sites and documentation
+ Following all safety protocols and best practices

+ Strong interest in telecommunications, low-voltage, or IT infrastructure
+ Basic knowledge of cabling, networking equipment, or electronics
+ Ability to use hand tools and work in a physical, hands-on environment

+ Solid work ethic and attention to detail
+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
+ Previous experience in telecom, construction, or low-voltage installation
+ Familiarity with:
+ Cable installation and termination
+ Network hardware (routers, switches)
+ VoIP or PBX systems
+ Technical certifications (nice to have, not required)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
