Security Installer

Responsibilities

• Installation of complex integrated security systems, including wiring, equipment, and programming of access control systems, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, and intercom systems.
• Capable of installing cabling, field equipment, and control equipment enclosures at customer locations according to the national electric code, company, and customer guidelines.
• Use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot complex problems during installation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
• Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment, and test for operation.
• Perform system checks for proper operation.
• Use computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets and databases; knowledge of CCTV and access control systems; media storage.
• Plan, organize and prioritize work while paying close attention to details.
• Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
• Analyze information as needed.
• Work unsupervised to complete installation jobs; be self‑motivated.
• Complete and submit all necessary paperwork related to job assignments.
• Use hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment.
• Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; then position and terminate cables, wires and strapping.
• Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors.
• Conduct end‑user training.
• Isolate customer network issues where applicable.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• A+ certification required.
• Significant background (3+ years) in digital & analog camera systems.
• Significant background (3+ years) in access control systems.
• Understanding of the function and design of alarm systems.
• Experience with IP addressable security devices (2+ years).
• Advanced TCP/IP networking skills.
• Valid driving record and ability to operate a company truck.
• Proficiency with all aspects of ADT A.I. core card access, CCTV systems.

• Associate degree or 2‑year technical school program graduate.
• Industry‑recognized apprentice training program may be substituted for formal education.
• Specialized training or certification in access control, CCTV (analog or IP), visitor management, MCSE, CCNA, surveillance systems, intrusion detection systems, perimeter intrusion detection systems, and security gate operators.

Hourly range: $21–$26. Salary reflects the target compensation for this role; exceptional candidates may be considered above the stated range.
