Automotive Mechanic
Terms of Employment
This is a 12 month position, Monday through Friday, 20-25 hours per week. $16.03/hour.
PurposeThis entry‑level role is designed to help aspiring mechanics develop practical workshop skills, build tool familiarity, and safely execute repairs while assisting the Transportation department and Mechanics with vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and routine maintenance/repairs. Provide other transportation/mechanical support as needed/assigned.
QualificationsCurrently enrolled in high school, a vocational/trade school, or an automotive degree program is preferred. Knowledge and familiarity with hand tools, a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to follow safety protocols are required.
Must be able to lift, pull, or push 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds occasionally. A 50-pound lift test will be required.
Must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff, and community members.
