Commercial Truck Technician

Location:

Ypsilanti, MI (also available in Melvindale, MI)

Overview

Since 1948, Shrader Tire & Oil has been providing commercial tires, oil, and mechanical services for hardworking fleets in the Midwest. We focus on professional, safety‑first service and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain professionalism and excellent customer service.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and identify worn or damaged parts of trucks and trailers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs and keep accurate inspection reports and maintenance records.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state vehicle repair requirements.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
Salary
  • Competitive base wage starting at $25 per hour.
  • Bonus opportunity with 70% efficiency and paid weekly.

Qualifications
  • Consistently maintain 70% efficiency rating in mechanics.
  • Certification from a diesel mechanic school, or 3 years of related experience.
  • Own tools including hand tools, impact guns, and pneumatic tools.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and perform required movements.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to drive an F‑250 or F‑350 commercial pickup truck.
Work Hours
  • Monday‑Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
  • Overtime as needed.
