You’ll work as part of a technician team installing and supporting data center cabling and network infrastructure, including:
Hands‑On Installation & Cabling- Install and decommission copper and fiber cabling infrastructure
- Pull, route, dress, and label low‑voltage cable (Cat5, Cat6, fiber)
- Perform field terminations and cable labeling
- Assist with rack & stack of network and server equipment
- Install ladder racking and seismic bracing (above and below raised floor)
- Layout and dress MDF and IDF closets
- Support copper and fiber testing and troubleshooting
- Operate test equipment (DSX 5000 / OTDR) or learn under supervision
- Upload and save results to Link Ware / Link Ware Live
- Create and apply port‑map labels
- Maintain clean, accurate documentation and paperwork
- Follow all safety, quality, and data center best practices
- Maintain clean, organized work areas
- Communicate project updates to leads and managers
- Work collaboratively with technicians, leads, and stakeholders
Read and interpret floor plans, blueprints, and design documents
- Have some cabling, low‑voltage, or data center exposure (school, internships, prior jobs, military, or hands‑on experience)
- Are comfortable with physical work (ladders, lifting, cable pulling)
- Want to grow in data center infrastructure or structured cabling
- Take pride in clean work, organization, and customer service
- Are dependable, safety‑minded, and eager to learn
- Experience with cabling, racking, or data center environments
- Familiarity with basic telecom hand tools
- Understanding of wiring schemes and labeling practices
- Comfortable pulling low‑voltage cable and working at heights
- Ability to read floor plans and basic drawings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience with fiber splicing, OTDR testing, or FIM databases is a plus.
Physical Requirements- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders and work on raised platforms
- Extended periods of walking, standing, bending, and reaching
- Manual dexterity to operate tools and technical equipment

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
