You'll be the go-to expert for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and structural systems, ensuring that every corner of our facilities remains functional and welcoming. From troubleshooting HVAC systems to performing electrical repairs, your hands-on experience will be invaluable in creating an inviting environment for our patrons.

To thrive as a Full-Time Facilities Technician at Allen County Public Library, you'll need a robust set of skills and knowledge in various trades. A solid understanding of principles, methods, and materials for mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry installation and repair is essential. Proficiency in operating hand, power, and shop tools will empower you to tackle diverse tasks effectively. Familiarity with safety regulations and practices is crucial to ensure a secure work environment.

You'll also need basic computer literacy for web-based work order tracking and maintaining accurate logs related to your work.

Additionally, the ability to safely operate small vehicles like vans, pickup trucks, and forklifts is key for onsite tasks.
