Position DetailsLocation:
404 E Washington. Full‑time 2nd shift, Wednesday – Sunday, 4 p.m. – 12 a.m.
Starting rate: $15 per hour plus shift bonuses: $1 per hour for 2nd shift, $2 per hour for 3rd shift, and $3 per hour for weekends.

The Life Coach provides direct care, advocacy, and life coaching to participants and ensures a safe, structured, and supportive environment within The Rescue Mission’s facilities. This role combines oversight of daily operations with a focus on individualized support and growth for each participant. The Life Coach should have the heart of a servant in accordance with Colossians 3:23.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities- Welcome, orient, and support participants staying at The Rescue Mission; offer emotional and spiritual support throughout their stay, assist participants with basic needs, and administer drug and breathalyzer testing when necessary.
- Ensure safety, security, and adherence to house guidelines by conducting regular walk‑throughs of the facility, supervising communal areas, and maintaining overall order.
- Offer leadership and guidance to participants by modeling integrity and accountability and provide immediate feedback to supervisors concerning progress or challenges of Life House participants.
- Maintain accurate and complete records, logs, and incident reports containing pertinent information, update information in the electronic record, and communicate relevant updates of clients to supervisors and Case Managers.
- Respond calmly and effectively to crisis situations, coordinating with staff and external service providers when needed.
- Attend quarterly all‑staff meetings.
- Attend monthly Life House staff meetings.
- Demonstrate The Rescue Mission’s core values of integrity, unity, and effectiveness.
- Be prepared to pray with and offer spiritual support to others.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in a related field required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Good listening skills.
- Problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow through until completion.
- Ability to work under pressure, handle stressful situations, and maintain flexibility.
- Completion of trauma‑informed care training.
- Good observation skills of the environment and the people within it.
- Self‑motivated.
- Basic computer skills with knowledge of internet and email.
- Ability to work with individuals of various socio‑economic, ethnic, and racial populations.
- Ability to comply with personal and business requirements and expectations as detailed in the employee handbook.
