Position: Student Transition Coordinator (Part Time)
Job SUMMARY
Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana, Inc. is seeking a part‑time Student Transition Coordinator to serve school districts in DeKalb, Noble, and Steuben counties. The position may evolve into full time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The coordinator will work closely with school administrators, teachers, and local employers to design and implement Pre‑Employment Transition Services. Key duties include:
Coordinate and document program functions and curriculum, including technology for remote services.Collaborate with the VP of Transition Services to ensure VR program and contract compliance.Engage students through curriculum and activities that foster growth in core service areas, creating teaching outlines and selecting appropriate aids.Maintain records and forms, track student progress, and submit required documentation, reports, and billing.Assist in selecting candidates for the program and conduct case conferences when necessary.Provide counseling on job exploration, work‑based learning, post‑secondary opportunities, and workplace readiness.Create and maintain a student portfolio documenting work readiness and accomplishments.Market student work‑based learning opportunities to businesses through outreach and networking.Develop and oversee summer programs for students outside the regular school year.Test students, evaluate training effectiveness, and provide written reports.Collaborate with site supervisors to document performance and progress.Offer support services such as job‑seeking skills, transportation assistance, advocacy, referrals, and crisis intervention.Ensure safety protocols are followed and report any unsafe conditions.Perform additional duties as assigned to support Goodwill’s mission.QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 1–3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with smartphones, laptops, and Apple/Google software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Must pass a background check.
