Job SummaryAre you a passionate, motivated Software Developer interested in a rewarding career in the Defense Industry? We are looking for a Software Engineer with embedded development experience to join our Advanced Products and Solutions (APS) team at Raytheon in Fort Wayne IN.
What You Will Do- Design, develop, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring robust functionality and reliability.
- Analyze and translate system requirements into software specifications and designs.
- Implement, test, and debug software solutions to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, and other teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.
- Participate in code reviews, testing procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software quality and development processes.
- Document software designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes for future reference.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience in programming languages such as C++ and Python.
- Experience in Dev Sec Ops practices, including CI/CD pipelines and secure software development methodologies.
- Experience with software development life cycles, including Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with real-time embedded systems or aerospace/defense applications.
- Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles.
- Exposure to cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git.
- Experience with software testing and debugging tools.

Salary range: $68,900 - $131,100 USD. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) match, flexible schedules, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. This role is a U.S.
-based role.
