Software Engineer – Space & RF Sensors (Fort Wayne, IN)

Join Raytheon to develop embedded software for aerospace and defense applications. This full‑time onsite role requires an active U.S. Secret clearance.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications.
• Analyze and translate system requirements into detailed software specifications.
• Implement, test, and debug software solutions to meet project requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, and cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Participate in code reviews, testing procedures, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Document software designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of professional experience, or Master’s degree with 0‑2 years of experience.
• Proficiency in C++, Java, Python or other programming languages.
• Understanding of Object‑Oriented Design principles.
• Experience with software testing and debugging tools.
• Experience using version control tools such as Git.

• Experience with Linux and/or real‑time embedded systems such as VxWorks or Integrity.
• Knowledge of Dev Sec Ops  practices, CI/CD pipelines (Git Lab, secure software development).
• Experience with unit test frameworks (gTest/gMock).
• Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning.
• Familiarity with gRPC and Protobufs.
• Familiarity with Open Systems Architectures and modular design.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
• Active U.S. government security clearance (required).
